Morgan, I can't help except to say please learn to spell before you write your paper.

Usually the best idea is to try to find out different people involved. if this is for a history class for example, go back through the text t, and try to find the name of someone that interested you from the reading. Then start gathering information about them. Google is a good start. Many schools also subscribe to some internet library publications that allow you to access old articles, and encyclopedia. I'd suggest talking to the librarian to see what particular resources your high school has available to you. Take notes on what you read. Also, take note of where you get your notes from. You'll need this for a bibliography or a source references page. Uhm. those are the things that come to mind right away. Feel free to ask questions.

I agree with the previous posters. Please use something with a spell checker or your paper won't get anywhere.

Decide what you want to say about the holocaust, then do an outline to organize your thoughts, then use google or some other search engine to see what you find. I'm sure there is plenty out there. Wikapedia can help with this organization.

But, most importantly, once you have the paper written, let someone else check it over. How you say something reflects how you think, and, based on what you say in post one, you are in a hurry, and don't take any pride in your sentence formation or spelling. If you don't take pride in your work, no one else will.

I hear, Wickapedia has inaccuracies. So, unless the professor tells us otherwise, I won't be using it on college research papers.

Oh, and as for writing them, if you are quoting from sources in any of your paragraphs, document where you got that quote, both immediately after the paragraph in which it was placed, and on your source page. How picky is your teacher? I have a couple of friends who said their British Literature teacher in high school was so picky about having the margins on the pages measured perfectly, she would actually take a ruler and measure to make sure everything was placed just so. God, I hope my teacher's not that strict.
Don't be afraid to ask your teacher for assistance; they are there to help.

Wickapedia has inaccuracies, but is still very very very useful. Over all, the majority of people that write articles for wickapedia are trying to add to knowledge, and aren't trying to put in false info. Should you use it as a definitive source? Not for most things. However, reading the wickapedia topic often times can give you a good starting point and information. Also, what many people I know do is read the wickapedia article, then use the sited sources at the bottom of the article as aditional places to get information. The one area I'd pretty much trust wickapedia in is computer topics. I know some teachers for tech classes that have allowed wickapedia as a source, because the techies (who made wickapedia what it is anyway) are pretty careful to make the info on computer stuff correct.

ONe of the hardest things to do during research papers is to keep them short, but long enough to give all your information. If you make it too long, it will get boring and the teacher will takes points off. However, if you make it too short, it will be very difficult to give good details on your subject. You have to find something in the middle.
Also, internet sources, though useful, are sometimes completelybanned, at least later in school. Since your in eighth grade, I don't know how much your teacher will mind, but it might be a good idea to find other sources now, so you can use hem later. Books are difficult as a blind person, but if you ask for help, you will usually ge it.
Just make sure that you put everything in an order. If it helps, make an outline fi4rst, get all your information, then outline what your going to do, and where your oing to put it. Don't put details, just short phrases to tell yourself what to put where. Then write the paper.
Most of all, make sure that evrything your teacher said is included. If she said to use size twelve font, use size twelve, and so on.
Good luck.

For the papers I'll be doing this semester in college, the format is 12 point font, black ink on white, typed, double-spaced, and 8-1/2 by 11-1/2 inch paper. God, this is going to be annoying.

And don't forget MLA.

<lol> this poster is in the eighth grade. The teacher will give out the format he/she wants, and I doubt it'll be mla.

I don't feel like starting a new topic just for one little thing.
Anyone had to do TAPP pages before writing each essay? I forgot what it all includes.
Thesis, Audience, purpose and there's something else.

Never mind. A lightbulb went off in my head when I came across the word newspaper. The fourth part is publication.

There something my school, and maybe others also? Like to do. It's sort of part of the prewriting process to help focus on a topic.

Post 17 by Miss Gorgeous (I'm going for the prolific poster awards!) on Thursday, 17-Jan-2008 16:40:33

Morgan, if you need help with your paper just give me a call. I suggest you first focus on a central topic and then go from there. I agree with the previous posters. Just be sure to be consistent with your research and be sure that the information came from a credible source. Not all google web sites are credible sources. Like what the other poster stated most school libraries subscribes to an online resources. Try checking those out. And make sure to organize your information when your done. Read it to your self aloud to see if you made any errors. Yes, right proofread the paper first before handing it in. It will be useful to also check out some books from your library that relates to this topic. I hope it helps.

Okay... Well, Anyone need any books about this subject try Anne Frank or search up on Web Braille the words you want in the keyword box.
Well, Hmmmmmmmm, Run your essay through someone adviceably not your friend. Friends give false opinions and can cause things to be missed. Don't give to someone you knows only gives compliments either. Lol!
